As the year comes to a close, I find myself reflecting on a whirlwind year of coding, creating, and learning. This is my first-ever year-in-review post, so here’s a little recap of my journey through software development in 2024.
Visualizing My Contributions
Thanks to some fantastic tools, I could easily track my coding contributions this year—at least on GitHub!

The visuals look great, though I did notice one curious insight: apparently, I’ve coded in Vue.js? Spoiler: I haven’t written a single line in Vue.js this year. Maybe Blazor doesn’t get enough recognition? A reminder to always take stats with a grain of salt!

Technical Highlights
This year has been packed with exciting projects and milestones. Here are some of my personal technical highlights:
- Building My First Copilot
In collaboration with a fantastic team, I developed a copilot that can be trained and queried live. This was a challenging yet rewarding experience, leveraging the power of .NET. - Real-Time Global Connectivity
I worked on connecting highly technical machines that could be monitored and regulated in real time, even across countries and continents. This involved:- Azure DevOps
- Azure IoT Hub
- Stream Analytics
- Power BI
- .NET
- A Trip Down Memory Lane
Revisiting older tech like Delphi and MySQL was like catching up with old friends. I helped port legacy systems to modern solutions using:- GitHub
- Azure
- Azure SQL
- .NET
- Blazor
Technologies I Used in 2024
Here’s a rundown of the tools and technologies I’ve worked with this year:
- Azure IoT Hub
- Stream Analytics
- Power BI
- React
- Blazor
- .NET
- C#
- GitHub Actions
- Azure DevOps
- OpenAI / ChatGPT
- PHP
- Delphi (formerly Turbo Pascal)
- … and more!
Closing Thoughts
2024 was an exciting and intense year, both technically and personally. As always, I’ve learned so much, and I’m looking forward to carrying those lessons into the new year. But for now, it’s time to power down and recharge.
Here’s to a fresh start in 2025. Wishing you all a wonderful new year filled with growth, innovation, and success.
All the best,
Oliver
